Aquatic Management Group lifeguards are vigilant, responsible, and highly trained to ensure the safety of members and guests of our community partners. Candidates must be proactive, focused, and have strong communication skills, providing excellent customer service while maintaining a safe and enjoyable environment for residents, members and their guests. As a Lifeguard, your primary responsibility will be to monitor water activities, prevent accidents, and respond quickly and effectively in case of an emergency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and Enforce Safety Standards: Continuously observe the pool, beach, or aquatic area for potential hazards, ensuring that safety rules and regulations are followed.

  • Rescue Operations: Perform rescues and provide first aid, CPR, or other emergency medical assistance as necessary in case of accidents, injuries, or drowning.

  • Accident Prevention: Use proactive strategies to prevent accidents, including offering safety instructions and maintaining order around water facilities.

  • Maintain Cleanliness and Order: Ensure the pool area is clean and free of obstacles, trash, or debris. Maintain surrounding facilities, including restrooms, in a neat a presentable manner. Lifeguard should report any maintenance needs to the supervisor.

  • Customer Service: Greet members, residents, and guests, answer questions, and provide information about pool rules, aquatic activities, and general safety guidelines.

  • Record Keeping: Document any incidents, accidents, or rescues according to AMG procedures.

  • Teamwork: Collaborate with fellow lifeguards and other team members to maintain a safe and fun environment for all guests.

  • Emergency Drills: Participate in regular training drills to ensure readiness in the event of a real emergency.

  • Equipment Checks: Ensure that safety and rescue equipment, such as life vests, rescue tubes, and first aid kits, are in good working condition and available.

Qualifications:

  • Certifications: 15 years of age or older and willing to obtain or posses current Lifeguard certification (American Red Cross or Ellis and Associates)

  • Physical Fitness: Must be physically fit and able to swim, perform rescues, and lift individuals as needed.

  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal communication skills to interact with guests and team members effectively.

  • Attention to Detail: Ability to stay alert and focused while on duty.

  • Customer Service: Friendly, approachable, and capable of handling customer inquiries or concerns in a professional manner.

  • Team Player: Ability to work well within a team, maintaining coordination during busy periods or emergencies.

  • Flexibility: Must be willing to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to swim and maintain stamina over extended periods.

  • Ability to lift, carry, or drag heavy objects or individuals during rescue operations.

  • Ability to stand or sit for long durations and maintain concentration in a busy environment.

Working Conditions:

  • Outdoor or indoor aquatic environment.

  • Exposure to varying weather conditions (for outdoor positions).

  • May require working early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Compensation:

  • Hourly wage: $14.00-16.00, pay varies by location and experience. Average starting pay is $15.00/hr
