Position Overview:

Aquatic Management Group Pool Managers to oversee the day-to-day operations of pools at our community partner locations. This position is crucial in ensuring a safe, clean, and enjoyable environment for residents, members, and guests. The Pool Manager will supervise lifeguard staff, manage pool maintenance, and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards. In addition to administrative duties, the Pool Manager will also handle customer service inquiries, resolve issues, and maintain a positive team culture at the facility. Ideal candidates will have strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and the ability to effectively manage both people and operations. This position is perfect for local school teachers!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise Lifeguard Staff: Lead, motivate, and manage lifeguards and other pool staff to ensure they adhere to safety protocols and maintain high standards of performance. This includes conducting performance evaluations, scheduling shifts, and providing ongoing training.

  • Safety and Compliance: Monitor pool and facility operations to ensure they meet all safety regulations, including maintaining water quality, monitoring chemical levels, and ensuring pool equipment is functioning properly. Enforce pool rules and policies to prevent accidents.

  • Customer Service: Act as the primary point of contact for residents, members, and guests. Handle customer inquiries and complaints professionally, ensuring a positive and welcoming atmosphere. Address any concerns or issues regarding pool facilities or staff promptly.

  • Facility Maintenance: Oversee the cleanliness and general maintenance of the pool area, including pool decks, restrooms, and surrounding areas. Coordinate with maintenance teams for any needed repairs or cleaning and ensure that the pool environment remains visually appealing and safe.

  • Incident Management: In the event of accidents or emergencies, lead the response efforts, including coordination with lifeguards, administering first aid if needed, and reporting incidents according to company procedures.

  • Administrative Duties: Maintain accurate records of pool maintenance schedules, chemical testing, staffing schedules, incident reports, and equipment inspections. Ensure all necessary paperwork is completed and submitted in a timely manner.

  • Training and Development: Conduct regular training sessions and emergency drills for staff, ensuring that all lifeguards and pool personnel are up-to-date on safety protocols, CPR, first aid, and rescue techniques.

  • Inventory Management: Monitor the supply of pool chemicals, cleaning supplies, safety equipment, and first aid materials. Order and maintain inventory levels as needed.

  • Compliance with Health & Safety Standards: Ensure the pool is regularly inspected for safety and that all health department regulations are met. Manage and report pool water quality tests and chemical adjustments.

  • Staff Scheduling and Coverage: Create and manage staff schedules to ensure appropriate lifeguard coverage during operational hours, particularly during peak times such as weekends and holidays.

  • Emergency Response: Act as the lead during pool-related emergencies, coordinating rescues, providing immediate first aid, and ensuring proper documentation is completed afterward.

Qualifications:

  • Certifications: Must be willing to obtain or present current Lifeguard certification (American Red Cross, Ellis & Associates). Must be willing to obtain PHTA Certified Pool Operator Certification and Local CPO certification, if mandated by local health department.

  • Experience: 2+ years of experience in lifeguard or pool operations, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or managerial role.

  • Leadership Skills: Strong leadership, organizational, and team-building skills. Ability to manage, motivate, and develop a team of lifeguards and support staff.

  • Customer Service: Exceptional customer service skills, with the ability to handle difficult situations and resolve complaints or issues professionally.

  • Problem-Solving Abilities: Ability to assess situations quickly and make effective decisions, especially in emergency scenarios.

  • Physical Fitness: Must be physically fit, with the ability to perform rescues, swim long distances, and remain on-duty for extended periods.

  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with staff, guests, and supervisors.

  • Attention to Detail: Ability to spot potential safety hazards and maintain high standards of cleanliness and facility upkeep.

  • Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively with others and promote a positive team environment.

  • Flexibility: Willingness to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and in varying weather conditions.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods during shifts.

  • Ability to lift and carry heavy objects, such as pool cleaning equipment or injured individuals.

  • Ability to swim for rescues or emergency situations.

Working Conditions:

  • Outdoor or indoor pool environment.

  • Exposure to sun, rain, or other weather conditions (for outdoor pools).

  • Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Compensation:

  • Hourly wage: $20.00 - $23.50, depending on experience and location. Managers without CPO certifications earn $18.00 until completion of certifications.
